Cartographer

Free documentation for your Power Platform solutions — crawl, describe, and search in plain English.
Cartographer documents your Power Platform solutions, for free.
Point it at a solution and it crawls every component — tables, columns, forms, views, cloud flows, plug-in steps, web resources, security roles, custom APIs — and writes plain-English documentation of what each one actually does.
It describes behaviour, not just names. A cloud flow's summary says what its trigger listens for and what its steps perform. A form script's summary says which fields it reads, which it watches for changes, which tables it writes through the Web API, and which deprecated APIs it still relies on. A form says when a script runs — "runs VB.Activation.onSave when the form is saved" — a fact neither the script nor the form states on its own.
Ask questions in plain English. Semantic search lets you ask "who is allowed to read records" or "what runs by itself on a timer" and get the right component back, even when your words appear nowhere in the documentation. The model runs inside your own Dataverse environment and makes no network calls.
Also included: a best-practice analyzer, entity and automation diagrams, generated user guides, exports to CSV, JSON, Excel and Word, and Compass for monitoring flows, plug-in steps and environment variables.
Genuinely free. Every feature, unlimited, with no trial and no paid tier. Activation asks only for a name, company and email.
After installing, bind the Cartographer Dataverse Connection reference and turn on the two cloud flows to enable scheduled crawling — crawling on demand works immediately. The Activation page shows you whether both are done.
