SmartVisuals Countdown

A countdown that is bound to your data, honest about time zones and aware of working days - and it keeps ticking between dataset refreshes, which a DAX measure on a card can never do.

Every deadline on one board. Bind a milestone table and get the whole list as a board, sorted by urgency, with a state chip on each row - and every row cross-filters the rest of the report. The same milestones also render as a timeline with a now marker. Add an Actual and a Goal measure and the visual tells you the run rate you still need, the projected finish date and whether you are on plan.

Counts both ways. Count down to a deadline, or up from the last event. "312 days since the last lost-time incident" comes with the record to beat: current streak, best streak, and the date the best was set. Nothing else on the shelf counts since an event.

Time zones done properly. A Power BI datetime carries no time zone, so every other route resolves your deadline against whatever clock the viewer's laptop happens to have. Pin the deadline to UTC, to a fixed offset or to a named zone such as Europe/Prague, and daylight saving is handled with a documented, tested policy. A shop floor can end its day at its own midnight instead of UTC's.

Working days, holidays and shifts. Sixty calendar days is the wrong answer when the right one is thirty-eight working days minus the shutdown week. Set your working weekdays, bind a column of non-working dates, and add a business-hours window - including one that crosses midnight for a night shift.
