Box plots that match your DAX quartiles, with points, outliers, reference lines; premium tests.

The box plot Power BI never shipped: quartiles that agree with your DAX, every unit on the chart, and the statistics that say which groups really differ.

Free, and never blocked

  • Quartiles you can state: Excel / DAX PERCENTILE.INC by default, plus Tukey's hinges, Excel exclusive / Minitab / SPSS and all nine Hyndman-Fan types. The footnote names the one in use.
  • Four whisker rules: 1.5 x IQR (any multiple), percentiles, mean +/- SD, min to max. Outliers and far outliers get different markers.
  • Every observation: a beeswarm, jitter or strip behind each box; hover a point for its ID, click to filter the report to it.
  • Reference lines: mean, median and up to four percentiles, for all data or per group, plus a typed reference line.
  • Split By a second field for side-by-side boxes; sort by median, mean, spread or n; hide small groups; horizontal or vertical; log scale.
  • Large data: put the value in Value (as column) with a Count measure and each distinct value arrives once.
  • A smart caption, a methods footnote, n per group, four themes, keyboard navigation, high contrast, English and Czech.

Readers without a licence always see the free chart: no watermark, no broken report.

Premium: compare and prove (per-user licence)

  • Significance between groups: Welch t or Mann-Whitney U, Holm or Bonferroni, Welch's ANOVA, brackets with stars or A / B / C letters.
  • Notched boxes and mean confidence intervals.
  • Weights (quartiles, means, Welch tests) with Kish effective n, spec limits typed or from measures with Cp, Cpk, Cpl, Cpu and Cpm per group, small multiples.

Premium previews free in Desktop and edit mode. Statistics run offline, golden-tested against scipy, numpy and statsmodels; no external calls.

Single view or the multi-view?

This is the single-view edition ($1.99 per user per month). SmartVisuals Distribution ($4.49) adds violin, raincloud, ridgeline, beeswarm and histogram views over the same fields, with the same premium layer. Licences do not carry across offers. For box plots alone this one is cheaper; with three or more chart types the multi-view is.
