RabbitMQ Message Broker on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by ProvenCloud
by ProvenCloud
RabbitMQ on Azure: message broker with the management web UI.
RabbitMQ on Azure, ready in minutes. Deploy the virtual machine, open its public IP address in a browser and you are ready to go. There is no installer to run and nothing to configure.
RabbitMQ is an open source message broker. It lets applications and microservices send messages to each other through queues, so work can be spread out, retried and processed in the background without losing data. This image gives developers and operations teams a ready RabbitMQ server in minutes, with the management UI already reachable in the browser.
Why teams choose this image
- Reliable messaging for your apps: queues, exchanges, routing, acknowledgements and streams, so services can talk to each other without losing messages.
- No shared default password: every VM sets its own passwords from its own VM ID on first boot, so no two customers share a login.
- Up to date: every component is on its latest stable release and the image carries all Ubuntu 24.04 LTS security updates, with nothing pending.
- Supports Trusted Launch with Secure Boot and vTPM. No build-time SSH keys or shell history are left in the image.
What is included
- RabbitMQ 4.4.0 with the management plugin
- Erlang 27
- nginx in front of the management console
- Webmin 2.670 for server administration
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, fully patched
Getting started
Open http://<vm-public-ip>/ for the management console and sign in as admin with your VM ID (Azure portal > the virtual machine > Properties > VM ID). AMQP clients connect on port 5672 with the same credentials. Webmin is on port 8000 (user admin).
Ports opened for you: SSH 22 and 80, 5672, 8000, 15672. For production, limit admin ports to your own IP address and add your domain with an SSL certificate. Step-by-step guide: provencloud.io/catalog/azure-rabbitmq-ubuntu-24-04
