Matrix Plume is a matrix that opens up in place. Put a hierarchy in rows (Region › City, Category › Product), your periods in columns (Year › Month) and one or more measures in values. Subtotals and totals are computed by Power BI itself, so they stay right for averages and ratios.
Free features, no watermark
- Explore: open or close a group with + / −, a double-click or the arrow keys; Expand all / Collapse all; the state is saved with the report.
- Totals: subtotals on the group row or in a Total row below, column subtotals, a grand total that stays visible.
- Layout: stepped or tabular, multi-level column headers frozen while you scroll, clear lines between column groups.
- Find and sort: search a row (its parents stay visible); click a value header to sort every level.
- Format each measure: alignment, units, decimals, prefix and suffix, colored negatives, bold, colors and width; drag a column edge to resize it.
- Interact: click a row, a cell or a header to cross-filter the page; Ctrl + click; right-click menu.
- Dynamic formatting: drive any Format pane setting with a DAX measure.
- For everyone: keyboard navigation, screen readers, high contrast, English and French.
- Your colors: follows the report theme; custom colors; Minimal and Black & White styles.

- Heatmap and data bars: background or text color scales, data bars, icons and pills, per measure.
- Sparklines: a Trend column per measure that shows how each row evolves across the columns, as a line or as columns.
- Collapsible column groups: fold a year to its subtotal, or gather measures under a named group.
- Angled headers from -90° to 90°, like text orientation in Excel.
- Total on the left: the grand total column stays next to the row headers while you scroll.

Try before you buy
Every premium feature works without a key: it only shows a small watermark. To remove it, paste your key in Format › Plume Studio License, the first card of the Format pane. Keys last one year (one-time payment, no automatic renewal) and are sold per visual or for the whole Plume catalog. The key is checked offline: the visual never connects to any server.
