Matrix‑based KPI cards for multi‑dimensional performance insights
KPI Matrix is a versatile and dynamic KPI card visual that combines classic KPI cards with the flexibility of a matrix layout. It enables you to visualize the relationship between two dimensions in a way no other visual can.
Create and format multiple KPI cards effortlessly in a row, column, or matrix layout. The matrix layout is especially powerful, placing KPIs in the context of two dimensions to reveal patterns and relationships that remain hidden in traditional visuals.
Each card displays a measure and optionally a target or comparison measure, supported by a customizable indicator that highlights the difference between them. Choose from a wide range of indicator styles and tailor their appearance with flexible options for color, opacity, and shape. Two mini chart types visualize current or historical trends, and drill functionality lets you control the level of detail.
Use conditional background formatting to turn the matrix into a heatmap or to highlight actual/target performance directly on each card. All cards—including row and column headers—support interactive data point selection for filtering or highlighting. You can also hide headers and place their content directly on the cards, making them appear as standalone KPI cards while retaining full interactivity.
Whether you want to display many KPIs at once or contextualize them across two dimensions, KPI Matrix streamlines your workflow. Apply consistent formatting across rows or columns, or use the matrix layout to enrich your dashboard with meaningful structure. Users can interact with your report by selecting individual cards, entire rows, or entire columns.
