Handoff 365 replaces ad-hoc external sharing with a controlled, fully audited handoff process — without your data ever leaving your Microsoft 365 tenant, and without creating a guest account for every partner.
Microsoft is retiring SharePoint One-Time Passcode authentication: external sharing now routes through Microsoft Entra B2B, which creates a guest account in your directory for every recipient. That leaves two options — manage a growing population of guest accounts, or fall back to anonymous links with no identity and no audit trail.
Handoff 365 is the third option. Partners verify by one-time passcode sent to their e-mail, download or upload what they need, and the link closes. No guest account is created, no directory object to govern, and every step is recorded in a SharePoint audit trail your compliance team can use.
One subscription covers your entire tenant — no per-user fees, no limits on the number of handoff links or external partners.

- Handoff 365 Enterprise — for medium and enterprise business. Everything above, plus live whole-folder shares, centralized audit trail, admin monitoring dashboard, REST API, custom branding, built-in file preview, file comments and priority support.
