This module provides per-line control of 1099 information for purchasing invoices.

Note: This module is available only for US installations and requires Microsoft’s IRS Forms module to be activated.

The 1099 Per-Line Control for Dynamics 365 Business Central module enables precise, line-level attribution of 1099 amounts at the time of purchase entry. Instead of relying on year-end reconciliation or post-facto adjustments, accounting teams can proactively determine how each individual line item contributes to 1099 reporting—improving accuracy, auditability, and confidence in reported totals.

By default, the module assigns the full line amount as the 1099-reportable amount. No additional input is required unless the 1099 amount differs from the line amount. This accommodates common real-world scenarios such as partially reportable charges, allocations across vendors or services, split invoices, or any situation where the 1099-applicable portion of a transaction does not align exactly with the posted amount.

The module maintains its own internal table that records and associates any line-level 1099 adjustments with their originating purchase document lines. This design preserves a clear audit trail, supports validation and review, and ensures that changes to 1099 attribution remain transparent and traceable over time.

1099 Per-Line Control originated from a real customer request to address a practical operational gap in standard Business Central functionality. If year-end 1099 preparation currently involves manual review, spreadsheets, or last-minute adjustments, this module is designed to eliminate that friction by shifting control to the point of entry.
