Reportworq Connect

For finance, FP&A and operations teams. Requires a licensed Reportworq platform, sold separately. Works in the Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint desktop apps for Windows and Mac.

Reportworq connects Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, through your Reportworq server, to your enterprise reporting sources, including IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), relational databases, Workday Adaptive Planning and other data sources supported by Reportworq.

In Excel, the guided report builder walks you through choosing a data model, selecting fields and placing the report on a worksheet, so you can build reports without writing formulas. Reportworq worksheet functions in the RW namespace (for example RW.CONTRIBUTION.INPUT, RW.RELATIONAL.EXPORT, RW.PLANNINGANALYTICS.MDX and RW.ADAPTIVE.EXTRACT; most RW.TOOLS.* functions are layout helpers) let you define reports directly. They appear in Excel's function autocomplete with descriptions and links to documentation, and the Formula library in the task pane lets you browse and insert them. The Reportworq server evaluates them when it runs a report; in Excel each shows its own name.

Reports built in the guided builder are stored in the workbook. Refresh a report from the source to bring the latest data into the worksheet. Write-back functions, such as RW.CONTRIBUTION.INPUT and RW.RELATIONAL.UPDATE, are carried out by the Reportworq server when input is submitted, where your Reportworq environment allows it.

In PowerPoint, the companion task pane links slide shapes, such as tables and charts, to Reportworq report content. Linked shapes are refreshed from the results of report runs, so a deck can be updated instead of being rebuilt by hand.

AI: two optional features use an AI provider that your Reportworq administrator has configured. RW.TOOLS.AIINSIGHT sends your prompt and any data range you choose, and Create with AI in the Excel chart builder sends a sample of the selected data. Review AI output before you rely on it.

The add-in works with a Reportworq server that your organization administers; sign-in and data access follow the permissions configured there. The Reportworq server must be reachable over HTTPS.
