Allocator Agent

Allocator Agent is one of C8 Technologies' agents for Microsoft Copilot: it brings C8's portfolio-construction engine into Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Asset managers, wealth managers and investment teams upload the return or NAV series of the instruments they are considering and ask in plain English what the target allocation should be under the constraints they set.
What you can do
- Build a model portfolio with one of fourteen construction methods, from inverse volatility and risk parity to constrained mean-variance and tactical allocation, under per-asset bounds, asset-class bands, a maximum drawdown limit (conditional drawdown at risk, 99%), a turnover cap and a minimum or maximum number of holdings, and see which constraints bind.
- Compare two to five set-ups side by side: what a drawdown cap costs in volatility, what a band changes, what a different method would have held.
- Turn a target into a trade list from your current holdings, within a turnover limit.
- Decompose a portfolio's risk: each holding's contribution, the same by asset class, the gap to your risk budgets, drawdown and concentration.
- Evaluate performance over a period, or run a walk-forward backtest in which the portfolio is rebuilt at each date from the data available on that date only.
How it works
Ask the agent for an upload link and upload your series as a spreadsheet or CSV: dates in the first column, one instrument per column. The agent gives you a dataset id; ask your question with it, for example "Build a risk parity portfolio on ds_…" or "Build a mean-variance portfolio on ds_… with a 10% drawdown limit and at most 40% in any holding". Every figure states its source, C8's validated engine or arithmetic on top of it, and its basis. If a constraint set cannot be met, the answer says so and how close the engine got.
Requirements
In order to use this app, an active Allocator Agent subscription account is required. Please contact C8 Technologies Ireland to request an account before installing the app.
Limitations
- Decision support only. Allocator Agent does not give personal investment advice, forecast returns, execute trades or hold client funds.
- It works only on the data you provide; it does not fetch market data in Teams or Copilot.
- Uploaded series, results and job records are kept for 24 hours so that follow-up questions work, then deleted. Holdings quantities and portfolio values are never stored.
- It does not monitor compliance or investment restrictions.
- Available in one-to-one chat with the agent and in Microsoft 365 Copilot; not in group chats or channels.
- Ask in English, German, French or Italian; answers follow the language of your question. The upload page is in English.
