Route Planner

Route Planner puts your multi-stop routes in the best order, powered by Google Maps. Select a column of stops - the first row is the start, the last row is the end - click Optimize route, and the visiting order, distance, and travel time per stop are written right next to your data, with a one-click link to open the whole route in Google Maps.

What you need to use it

• A Route Planner license key, a one-time purchase from pythonandvba.com. The add-in is free to install from the store; the license is sold and managed on our website.
• Your own Google Maps Platform API key, with the Maps JavaScript API and Routes API enabled. You bring your own key, so you stay in control of your Google usage and billing.

Features

• Optimize up to 25 stops between the start and the end (27 rows in total) in one click (Google's stop-order optimization).
• Works on a selected range or an Excel table; addresses, landmarks, and lat,lng coordinates are all accepted.
• Visit order, distance from previous stop, and travel time from previous stop written next to your data - pick which columns you need.
• Open the optimized route in Google Maps with one click, read the ordered itinerary right in the pane, or copy it as text.
• Round-trip mode: end where you start, with the return leg in the totals.
• Driving, walking, bicycling, and two-wheeler modes, with optional traffic-aware driving.
• Miles or kilometers; minutes, hours, or a friendly "1h 30min" format.
• Light and dark themes.

Privacy. Your stops are sent only to Google Maps to perform the optimization. The add-in stores nothing on its own servers; your license key and Google API key are saved only in your own Office user storage.
