How Save on Send works (event-based activation and Smart Alerts). FileMy.Email uses Outlook event-based activation. It runs automatically at one moment only — when you click Send on a message you are composing — and never on mail you receive, open, or read. On Send it checks whether Save on Send is on for that message and which folder you picked:

• Off (the default) — the message sends normally, with no prompt and no change.
• On, with a folder chosen — the add-in registers the message for filing and the send proceeds.
• On, with no folder chosen — a Smart Alert appears ("Save on Send is on but no SharePoint folder is selected") so mail isn't sent unfiled. Go back and pick a folder, or choose Send Anyway. This is the only condition that ever interrupts a send.

Nothing is inserted into your email. The add-in adds, changes, and removes nothing — no text, disclaimer, signature, subject, recipient, header, or attachment. Recipients get exactly what you wrote. It records only a hidden add-in property holding the folder you picked, and transmits only the subject, recipient addresses, conversation ID, and folder ID so the sent message can be filed.

Private by design. FileMy.Email never reads or stores your email content — only metadata (sender, subject, date) to suggest folders and name files. Files transfer directly to your own SharePoint or OneDrive. Sign in with your existing Microsoft 365 account; no new passwords.
