As described above, SMART AIM is an engagement model which accelerates the customer journey to the cloud. A foundation of this model is the SMART AIM Library, a collection of prebuilt configurable components that help customers deliver at speed, increasing the security and quality of outcomes while reducing risk. The SMART AIM library includes prebuilt “reference architectures” developed by our Azure Engineering Team which incorporate our methodologies, standards, and best practices. It includes Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, configuration files and associated build and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for deploying customer applications and their associated infrastructure in Azure. The SMART AIM artifacts are used within Azure DevOps to ensure that the Azure infrastructure and environments for each customer application are deployed in a consistent way with approved best practice configurations. This approach greatly simplifies the process for application developers enabling them to focus on functionality. The SMART AIM Library consists of over 100 different Azure resource provisioning templates and associated automation scripts (e.g. Powershell, and Templates).
