Engagement approach

• Fundamentals and orientation - Introduction to Power BI concepts, components and the reporting lifecycle. Demonstration of the Power BI interface and exploration of example reports. Understanding the role of Power BI in modern analytics and decision making.
• Data connection and preparation - Connect to common data sources including CSV, Excel and folder structures. Use Power Query to transform and clean datasets before loading. Prepare data for modelling by shaping, combining and profiling tables.
• Modelling and visual design - Create relationships, measures, calculated columns and understand STAR schema basics. Learn modelling fundamentals including facts, dimensions and date tables. Apply visualisation best practices to design clear, impactful dashboards.
• Build, publish and enable - Complete an end-to-end build-along report using the demo dataset. Publish reports to the Power BI Service and configure workspace access. Q&A, knowledge transfer and tailored next steps for continued upskilling.
