SIP signalling requires relatively few resources, while media processing, transcoding, recording and conferencing are CPU-intensive workloads.

  • Production deployments with recording or light transcoding: Standard_D2s_v5 (2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM)
  • Higher concurrent call volumes, transcoding or media-intensive workloads: Standard_D4s_v5 (4 vCPU, 16 GB RAM), scaling to Standard_D8s_v5 for large conferencing deployments.
