E-Signature Requests for SharePoint is an application from Dynamica Labs that adds a signature action to SharePoint Online document libraries in Microsoft 365. A user sends a PDF for electronic signature through your organization's own BoldSign account, and the completed document is written back to the same library. BoldSign is an electronic signature service from Syncfusion, Inc. E-Signature Requests for SharePoint is distributed through Microsoft Marketplace.
The gap it closes
Documents that need signing are already stored in SharePoint. Signing happens in BoldSign. Until the two are connected, each file has to be carried across by hand: downloaded, uploaded, then downloaded again once signed and filed back.
How it works
- A user selects a PDF in a SharePoint document library and chooses Send for signature in the command bar.
- The user chooses the recipients for the signature request.
- The application submits the document using your organization's own BoldSign account.
- Recipients receive the request and sign in BoldSign.
- When every recipient has signed, the application writes the completed document back to the SharePoint document library.
What you will need
E-Signature Requests for SharePoint requires:
- A Microsoft 365 tenant with SharePoint Online.
- Documents in PDF format. The application sends PDF files only.
- Your organization's own BoldSign account, with API access and webhooks enabled. BoldSign lists both under its Enterprise API plan. The subscription is purchased from Syncfusion separately and is not included with this application — see the BoldSign pricing page for current plans and charges.
- A SharePoint administrator to grant consent, select the sites where the signature action appears, and enter the API key.
Dynamica Labs does not resell BoldSign subscriptions or act as an intermediary for them. Your documents and signature records stay in your own account.
What the application can reach
Your administrator selects which SharePoint sites the application can access. The signature action appears in document libraries on those selected sites only.
The BoldSign API key is entered once by an administrator and held server-side in Azure Key Vault, isolated per tenant.
Who it is for
E-Signature Requests for SharePoint is intended for teams that store contracts and other documents for signature in SharePoint and use BoldSign for signing. Intended uses include sales agreements, vendor agreements, and employee onboarding documents.
Scope and limitations
- The application sends PDF files. Documents in other formats cannot be sent.
- Recipients sign in BoldSign. The signing experience is provided by that service, not by SharePoint.
- The signature action is available only on the sites your administrator has selected.
- Each signature request is started by a user on a document they have selected. The application does not send documents in bulk, and does not send a document without a user starting the request.
- A BoldSign subscription with API access is required and is not included with this application.
