CS Sales Costs & Commissions

If costs need to be paid for sales orders are that shipped or where the invoice has been paid for, such as levies, commissions for sales agents or 3rd party logistics, you will need to reserve these costs for payment.

Sales costs are paid off when a sales invoice has been posted or later, when a sales invoice has been paid.

This app reserves the costs to be paid as expected costs on a balance account in the general ledger and posts them to the income statement if a customer ledger entry has been created or paid. These costs can be managed even per order, and based on the discounts that are granted on sales orders. There is a one page setup.

Expected sales costs affect the net profits of sales orders, but they are not visible on the statistics pages.

With budgeted costs posted to balance accounts and income statements, these costs are identifiable. CS Sales Costs & Commissions visualizes these costs per customer, per item, per sales agent, and even per order or per invoice.

Costs are payable on different moments. Local tax offices expect levies and taxes to be paid upon posting the invoice or delivery, whereas sales agents will be paid only when a sales invoice is paid and a threshold gross margin has been reached.

CS Sales Costs & Commissions monitors the timely payment of costs to be paid off and posts them to the income statement accounts automatically. It even created the purchase documents needed to post the costs in the correct period.

Actual costs and expected costs are needed to display to expected and actual revenues of orders, customers, sales agents or items.

A separate entry table with sales costs entries registers every sales transaction and the costs that occur for that transaction, paid and unpaid.

Just like VAT entries, each entry will be marked as being budgeted, posted to the general ledger on balance account, result account and paid to vendors. An unlimited number of cost type can be defined.

This results in a clear insight in sales costs that need to be taken, are already taken and paid to your agents, government or any external organization.

Finance managers will be able to monitor the revenues of sales both for actual and expected costs, with no additional effort. Your sales agents will be paid on time for their sales results.

CS Sales Costs & Commissions uses standard Microsoft 365 Business Central entries, that are posted to the General Ledger. Add shortcut dimensions in the General Ledger setup to define what cost type should be paid off, the rate (in percentage or amount) and the vendor that needs to be credited.

The app supports the Essentials and Premium Editions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
