Conalys-Legal Document Review

Getting started is as simple as subscribing to “Conalys” under Add-Ins in Word’s menu bar and clicking Show Task Pane. A slim panel then appears with four core commands—Text to Table, Table to Text, Copy Text, Copy to Final—plus a colour-coded Status picker.

1. Convert text to a review grid

Select any portion of the document (a single paragraph or the full agreement) and press Text to Table. In seconds Conalys lays the content into a six-column matrix while preserving fonts and indentation. For smooth numbering we recommend non-automated numbering styles. Switch Word to Web Layout to view the table full-width on widescreens

Rename the Party columns to match real teams—“Seller/Buyer,” “Customer/Vendor,” etc.—so everyone knows where their input belongs. Each clause row has its own checkbox, keeping bulk actions precise.

3. Draft, copy, and merge in one click

• Tick a clause in Column A and hit Copy Text to drop it into Party A’s amendment cell ready for red-lining—no re-typing.

• Have boilerplate that never changes? Tick those clauses and press Copy to Final; they jump straight to Column F.

• After Party A rewrites a clause, tick Column C and hit Copy Text again to pass the amended version to Party B’s side (Column E) for counter-proposals—perfect for back-and-forth rounds.

4. Use Word features you already know

Turn on Track Changes to see insertions, deletions, and authorship in real time. Add narrative explanations in the comments columns. Shift+Enter (in combination!) inside a cell creates multi-paragraph passages without adding rows.

5. Track progress with traffic lights

Set any clause to Closed, Pending, or Critical via the Status drop-down; Conalys colours the row so reviewers can filter open issues instead of combing through pages.

6. Rebuild a sign-ready document

When every clause you want in the final draft sits in Column F, highlight the table (click the Table Move Handle) and press Table to Text. Conalys recreates clean Word prose, restores all non-automated bullets and numbering, and leaves Track Changes intact—no external tools needed. Save interim versions of the grid for a complete audit trail or publish the table on SharePoint for real-time stakeholder review. Everything stays inside Word on Windows, Mac, iPad, or the web.
