The Cloud Security Envisioning Workshop helps organizations understand the value of Microsoft Defender for Cloud in detecting threats, improving security posture, and identifying risks and opportunities. Delivered by a certified Microsoft partner, this six-session virtual engagement leverages real customer data to uncover security threats and vulnerabilities, enabling security teams to explore and validate cloud security strategies.

Workshop Prerequisites: • Global Administrator access to the customer’s Microsoft environment • Access to relevant subscriptions, resources, and trial or licensed Microsoft Defender services • Participation from key stakeholders (CISO, IT Security, Cloud Administrators)

Workshop Objectives: • Identify customer-specific security objectives and priorities • Demonstrate Microsoft Defender for Cloud capabilities in real-world scenarios • Explore security posture, threat detection, and risk management • Provide actionable guidance and recommendations for deployment or expansion

Session Breakdown & Deliverables:

Session 1: Customer Objectives & Scoping • Understand the customer’s key security objectives and priorities • Translate objectives into workshop modules • Define success criteria for the engagement

Session 2: Environment Setup & Access Configuration • Configure Microsoft Defender for Cloud in the customer’s environment (virtual setup) • Ensure Global Admin access is validated and permissions are configured • Prepare real-world data sources for threat exploration

Session 3: Mandatory Module Demonstration • Walk through core modules: ○ Defender for Cloud Security Posture Management ○ Microsoft Defender Portal • Begin assessment of security posture using customer data

Session 4: Optional Modules Deep Dive (Select at least 2) • Select modules based on customer priorities: ○ Defender for Servers ○ Defender for Databases ○ Defender for Storage ○ Defender for Containers ○ Defender for App Service ○ Defender for AI Services ○ Security Exposure Management

Session 5: Threat Detection & Remediation Scenarios • Remediate potential technical issues during deployment • Demonstrate key scenarios highlighting Microsoft security products, value, and differentiators • Explore threat detection and risk mitigation strategies

Session 6: Recommendations & Roadmap • Summarize workshop outcomes • Provide tailored recommendations and actionable next steps • Define roadmap for deployment, expansion, or pilot • Discuss licensing, estimated costs, and adoption plan

Outcomes: • Clear understanding of the customer’s cloud security posture • Hands-on experience with threat detection, risk assessment, and remediation • Strategic roadmap for Microsoft Defender for Cloud adoption or expansion • Executive summary with prioritized recommendations and next steps
