Built on Business Central's native change log engine, Data Gatekeeper eliminates noise before it reaches your audit trail. Blank text fields, zero-value numeric fields, and empty date fields can be excluded from the log until after the initial values are approved and committed. Changes can even be suppressed until a meaningful event occurs — like only logging sales line changes once the quantity field has been set.
Snapshot Logging
Data Gatekeeper introduces a new point‑in‑time capture method that reduces operational risk by preserving immutable, time‑stamped evidence of critical fields. When internal disputes arise—such as an employee claiming the item or quantity they originally entered on an order was later altered—these captured states provide the authoritative baseline needed to verify exactly what was recorded when the order was released or posted.
Automated Restriction & Approval Workflows
When a change is detected, Data Gatekeeper doesn't just log it — it can act on it. Records can be automatically restricted and approval workflows kick in without manual intervention. And it goes beyond the native workflow: while Business Central only blocks the release or posting of a restricted document, Data Gatekeeper also blocks the printing or emailing of related reports until the restriction is lifted.
