Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS Jammy (Trusted Launch)

durch Derek Coleman & Associates Corporation

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy VM, Gen2 Trusted Launch, patched at build, for general Azure workloads.

You get Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS on an Azure Generation 2 VM with Trusted Launch, patched to 14 October 2026 and ready for SSH sign-in with the key you choose when you deploy. Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish) receives standard security maintenance from Canonical until April 2027.

Who it's for

  • Teams that want a plain, current Ubuntu 22.04 LTS base for their own applications and configuration management
  • Developers who need an Ubuntu 22.04 VM that matches what they run elsewhere
  • Administrators who want Trusted Launch (Secure Boot and a virtual TPM) without building their own image

What's included

  • Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS (x86-64) with the Azure-tuned 6.8 kernel series Canonical ships for 22.04
  • apt (Ubuntu's package manager), cloud-init (first-boot configuration from the Azure portal) and the Azure Linux Agent
  • A 30 GiB operating-system disk

After deployment

  • Deploy it from the Azure portal: choose an SSH public key for the admin user and allow inbound SSH (port 22), ideally from your own IP address only.
  • Sign in, then run sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade: this image was built on 14 October 2026 with no security updates pending, and the command applies anything Ubuntu has published since.
  • Open any other port yourself with a network security group (NSG, the firewall rules Azure applies to the VM).

Why this image

  • A fresh build: Ubuntu security updates applied during the build, the updated kernel booted before capture, zero updates pending at capture, and the image checked against the Azure Marketplace certification rubric before publishing
  • Trusted Launch: published for Trusted Launch VMs (Secure Boot and a virtual TPM), so you can enable boot-integrity monitoring in Azure
  • Email support at support@dcassociatesgroup.com and a quick-start page at www.dcassociatesgroup.com/support/

How it runs on Azure

The VM runs in your own Azure subscription and virtual network. Billing is pay-as-you-go on your Azure invoice: an hourly software charge per vCPU plus standard Azure compute and storage. Requirement: a VM size that supports Generation 2 and Trusted Launch.
