License Manager for Microsoft, by Licenseware

durch Licenseware

Reclaim wasted Microsoft licences and fund Azure migration from existing spend.

Licensing across the Microsoft estate is complex. Over-provisioning is common. Reclaimable spend is hiding in most organisations — and very few have the tooling to find it.

License Manager for Microsoft by Licenseware is purpose-built to solve this. Part of the Licenseware platform, it ingests deployment data from Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, and on-premises sources, then returns a clear, evidence-based view of where licences are wasted, where compliance gaps sit, and where spend can be reclaimed.

What it does

  • Analyses Microsoft 365 usage against entitlement to identify unused or under-used licences
  • Maps deployments across Windows Server, SQL Server, SCCM, and Microsoft Entra ID against licence positions
  • Surfaces reclaimable spend with defensible, audit-grade evidence
  • Generates actionable reports for SAM teams, IT leaders, and procurement
  • Produces defensible positions for audit response and True-Up preparation

Why it matters for Azure-committed customers

Reclaimable spend is typically measured in tens to hundreds of thousands of pounds per year for mid-market and enterprise customers. That recovered budget can fund Azure migrations, new workloads, or AI initiatives — turning licensing optimisation into cloud transformation spend.

How it works

The platform integrates with Microsoft Graph API on a read-only basis. No agents, no write access, no changes to your tenant. Permissions are limited to reading user profiles, organisation information, usage reports, devices, Microsoft Intune managed devices, directory data from Microsoft Entra ID, and group memberships.

Hosted in your chosen region: EU (Eemshaven, Netherlands), US (Iowa), or AU (Sydney). Common discovery sources are also supported — SCCM, Intune, Lansweeper — for hybrid estates.

Who it's for

  • IT and SAM leaders managing Microsoft estates of 2,000 devices or more
  • Organisations preparing for audit or True-Up cycles with Microsoft
  • Customers planning or mid-way through Azure migration wanting to fund the programme from existing spend
  • Managed service providers and consultancies delivering licensing optimisation services for Microsoft estates

Licenseware credentials

  • SOC 2 Type 2 certified
  • Gartner Market Guide for SAM Tools — 2025 and 2026
  • Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe 2025
  • Data residency: EU, US, and AU regional instances
