Avamboo Encrypt is an Outlook add-in that enables simple and secure encryption of emails and attachments directly within Microsoft Outlook.

With Avamboo Encrypt, organizations can protect sensitive information quickly and reliably—without requiring certificates, complex key infrastructures, or extensive user training. Emails and attachments are delivered as encrypted PDF files, ensuring that recipients can access the content using only a standard PDF reader, without the need for additional software.

Note on automated processing and notifications:

Avamboo Encrypt may perform automated actions within Outlook, such as when composing or sending emails. During these events, the add-in evaluates whether encryption should be applied based on defined rules. In this context, informational messages or warnings may be displayed before an email is sent. If required, the email content and attachments are processed to generate an encrypted PDF file. This processing is performed solely for the purpose of providing encryption and security functionality.

Licensing and usage model:

Avamboo Encrypt is available in both a free and a paid version:

• Free version: Available at no cost with limited sending capacity (2 emails per day, 30 emails per month). Includes core features such as encryption and a personal password database.
• Pro version: Paid license (e.g. €120 per user/year) with increased sending limits (up to 50 emails per day, 1,000 emails per month) and additional features such as shared password management.

An active license is required to access advanced features.

Sign-in required:

Using Avamboo Encrypt requires sign-in with a Microsoft account. Sign-in is used to identify the user, validate the license, and enforce usage limitations (e.g. in the free version). The add-in cannot be used without signing in.
