A SharePoint web part that delivers targeted intranet announcements in three configurable styles
Intra Announcement is a modern SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
web part that gives internal communications teams, HR departments, and
intranet administrators a flexible, polished way to surface important
announcements directly on any SharePoint page - without requiring employees
to navigate elsewhere or check a separate channel.
Key Features
Three display styles - Choose how announcements appear
to employees: a full-width Top Banner carousel that rotates
through messages automatically, a continuously scrolling
Marquee Ticker strip, or stacked Notification Cards
that sit naturally alongside other page content.
Rotating banner with dot navigation - When using the
Top Banner style, announcements cycle at a configurable speed (3–20
seconds). Navigation dots let users jump to any announcement instantly.
The carousel pauses automatically on hover.
Scrolling marquee with click-to-expand - The Marquee
Ticker scrolls all active announcement titles in a compact strip.
Clicking any title opens a detail modal with the full message and
call-to-action link. The ticker pauses on hover.
Notification cards with priority badge - Each
announcement is shown as an individual card. Announcements flagged as
Priority 1 display a prominent Priority badge so critical
messages are never missed.
Per-announcement customization - Each announcement
supports a custom background color, text color, Fluent UI icon, and a
call-to-action button with a configurable label and URL.
Built-in content management panel - Authorized content
managers get a side panel directly in the web part to create, edit, and
delete announcements - no SharePoint list editing required. The panel
includes an All Items tab with a sortable table view of every
announcement.
Active/Inactive toggle and date range scheduling -
Each announcement has a Start Date, End Date, and an Is Active toggle,
giving content managers precise control over when messages appear.
Priority-based ordering - A numeric Priority field
determines the display order, ensuring the most important messages
always appear first.
Automatic first-run setup - On first use, the web part
automatically creates the required Intra Announcements
SharePoint list and a dedicated Intra Content Managers
permission group. Site owners add members to the group to delegate
publishing rights - no manual list setup needed.
SharePoint theme support - The web part respects the
site's color theme, including dark mode, and adapts automatically when
the theme changes.

Add the web part to any modern SharePoint page. On first load it will
guide site owners through the one-time list creation. Choose a display
style, set the maximum number of announcements, and optionally configure
the carousel speed - all from the property pane. Tenant-wide deployment
is supported, so you can roll it out from the SharePoint App Catalog
without activating it site by site.
