Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations: 6-Mo Implementation
Folio3 Software Inc.,
Most Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations slip because scope grows faster than the plan does. Folio3 Dynamics runs a fixed-phase implementation with a delivery cadence finance can plan around: standard scope reaches go-live in six to nine months, while phased or full operational rollouts run one to three years depending on complexity. The discovery phase pins your number before contract signing.
What's included
- Standard-first configuration of Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Project Operations modules against your actual processes
- Master data and historical ledgers migrated from AX, SAP, Oracle, or legacy systems, with full reconciliation
- Multi-entity and multi-currency setup in a single instance where relevant
- Integrations to your CRM, e-commerce, and third-party systems built during implementation, not deferred
- Power BI dashboards for finance and operations reporting shipped alongside go-live
- Role-based training, cutover, and hypercare
Timeline
Standard Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations implementations run six to nine months. Phased or full operational rollouts — multi-entity consolidations across many jurisdictions, heavy manufacturing configuration, or migrations carrying decades of transactional history — run one to three years. The discovery phase pins the number before contract signing.
Who this works for
Mid-market and enterprise organizations implementing Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, whether replacing Dynamics AX, moving off SAP or Oracle, or standing up Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for the first time as they scale past what Business Central covers. Single-entity and multi-entity implementations are both in scope; multi-entity setups with many legal entities typically need an extended discovery.
Folio3 Dynamics runs a dedicated Microsoft Dynamics 365 practice with delivery teams across North America, the UK, Australia, and the Middle East.
How the engagement runs
The engagement runs in fixed phases whose length scales with scope, but whose sequence and exit criteria do not.
Discovery (two to four weeks): process mapping across finance, supply chain, procurement, and operations; source-system audit and data profiling; integration architecture; ISV dependency mapping; and a Success by Design solution blueprint. A fixed-fee statement of work is signed before build begins.
Configuration and extension build: standard functionality is configured first, then extensions are scoped, built, and deployed to a sandbox tenant. Migration scripts are developed against a copy of your source data in parallel.
Data migration: run using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Lifecycle Services, followed by full reconciliation across GL, AR, AP, inventory, and open transactions. Your finance team signs off before cutover.
User acceptance and cutover: user acceptance testing, role-based training, Copilot enablement, and a cutover rehearsal, followed by production cutover.
Hypercare: four weeks of post-go-live hypercare and knowledge transfer.
What you receive
- Provisioned Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment on Azure
- Migrated master data, open transactions, and historical GL, with a signed reconciliation report covering GL, AR, AP, and inventory
- Configured modules and rebuilt integrations, deployed and tested
- Role-based user training and an admin runbook
Method
We configure standard functionality first and extend only where it pays for itself. That constraint is the whole method: upgrades stay routine and support costs don't compound after go-live, instead of over-customizing in ways that break on every Microsoft update. Delivery runs on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Lifecycle Services and follows Success by Design.
Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations integrates natively with Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Microsoft Fabric, and Dataverse. Copilot for Finance is available at go-live.
About Folio3 Dynamics
A dedicated Microsoft Dynamics practice with 20+ years of delivery and 300+ projects across North America, the UK, Australia, and the Middle East. Role-based access, segregation of duties, and audit-ready controls come as part of standard configuration, not an add-on phase.
Pricing
Fixed fee at contract signing. The number depends on module scope, number of legal entities, data volume and complexity, and how much extension work sits outside standard configuration. The discovery phase pins the quote. Contact us to scope your project.
