GenAI Tools for Excel

The Generative AI Tools for Excel is an add-in that provides custom functions for using ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), and Claude (Anthropic) directly from Excel.

Upon installing this add-in, the following custom functions will be available:

• BB.ASK function: sends a question or instruction to the AI and gets a response
• BB.CATEGORIZE function: sends text and a list of categories to the AI and asks which category it belongs to
• BB.CHAT function: sends a series of conversations to the AI and gets a continuation of the conversation
• BB.EMBEDDING function: sends text and retrieves its embedded representation
• BB.LOOKAT function: shows an image link to the AI and asks for a description
• BB.MAJORITY function: sends text and a list of categories to the AI and decides which category it belongs to based on a majority vote from multiple AIs

Additional features in June 2024 version

• Support for embedded text expressions
• Support for cache to reduce recalculation costs
• Support for communication control to avoid rate limits
• Support for deletion of fine-tuning model

• Support for Anthropic's Claude versions 1.2/2.0/2.1/3 (Sonnet/Opus)
• Support for classification by majority vote from multiple AIs

Additional Features as of February 2024:

• Support for Google's Gemini 1.0 Pro
• Support for ChatGPT's image recognition feature
• Support for ChatGPT's fine-tuning feature
• Improvement to display server messages as function return values in case of server errors(HTTP status 5xx)
• Addition of an automatic retry feature up to 3 times in case of communication errors

This add-in is free of charge, but the use requires obtaining API keys (paid) from OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Anthropic Claude.
