The BDP Disassembly BOM Manager enables flexible inventory disassembly operations that go beyond traditional BOM structures in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Unlike standard assembly BOMs, this extension allows you to create custom disassembly patterns with any combination of components, generate work orders with full location and bin management, and execute warehouse picks through an integrated mobile-ready workflow.
Custom Disassembly BOMs: Define reusable patterns for breaking down items into components. Each pattern supports flexible line structures with positive quantities (items gained) and negative quantities (items consumed), without the rigid constraints of standard BOMs.
Work Order Management: Generate disassembly work orders from saved patterns with quantity multipliers, source/destination location and bin assignments, and status tracking from creation through posting.
Warehouse Pick Integration: Create pick documents directly from disassembly orders. Warehouse staff can use the pick list interface on mobile devices to execute take and place operations with real-time status updates.
Posting and Audit Trail: Post completed disassembly operations with full integration to Business Central inventory ledger entries. Every transaction is tracked with complete audit history.
Role Center and Activities: A dedicated role center for disassembly specialists provides at-a-glance activity cues, quick actions, and recent document access.
The extension includes four permission sets (Admin, User, View, Setup) for granular access control and works with Business Central online (SaaS) environments.
