Power BI only reads. The moment someone has to enter a budget, a forecast or a corrected master data value, the numbers leave the report for Excel and come back days later. And once you need a calculated row that is not in the model, a comment on a cell or a graph inside the grid, the standard matrix stops where your requirement starts.

accoPLANNINGV2 covers both. It is a flexible cross table visual that reports on your existing Power BI model and writes data straight back to your own SQL database. This newest generation carries the full writeback engine from our Professional version and adds AI assistance, extended calculation and formatting capabilities, rich commentary, line item detail and drag and drop analysis.

Finance and business teams use it for budgets, rolling forecasts and project plans. Data owners maintain dimensions and hierarchies themselves instead of raising a ticket to IT, and every change is stored with a full audit trail in your own database.

How it works

1. Install the visual from Microsoft AppSource
2. Set it up on your existing Power BI data model
3. Connect your SQL database (on-premises, Azure or Microsoft Fabric) for writeback
4. Start reporting and planning

Requirements: Power BI, an accoPLANNING license, and for writeback a SQL table (Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric or SQL on-premises). Azure SQL hosting starts at approximately $5 per month, and a self-hosted API deployment is available at no additional licensing cost.
