Connect or disconnect Windows VMs to Azure Elastic SAN volumes over iSCSI.
Overview
The ElasticSAN Windows OS Extension lets you connect or disconnect a Windows VM to Azure Elastic SAN volumes using the iSCSI initiator.
Capabilities
- Log in/out of iSCSI targets for the volumes you specify.
- Optionally establish multiple sessions per target for MPIO.
- Writes basic operational logs to the VM.
Not included
- No partition/format/mount operations.
- No changes to Elastic SAN resource configuration.
Prerequisites
- Windows Server 2019/2022 or Windows 10/11 Enterprise with the iSCSI Initiator service.
- Network reachability to the target portal(s) on TCP 3260.
- Appropriate RBAC to access the Elastic SAN resource.
