Connect or disconnect Windows VMs to Azure Elastic SAN volumes over iSCSI.

Overview

The ElasticSAN Windows OS Extension lets you connect or disconnect a Windows VM to Azure Elastic SAN volumes using the iSCSI initiator.

Capabilities

  • Log in/out of iSCSI targets for the volumes you specify.
  • Optionally establish multiple sessions per target for MPIO.
  • Writes basic operational logs to the VM.

Not included

  • No partition/format/mount operations.
  • No changes to Elastic SAN resource configuration.

Prerequisites

  • Windows Server 2019/2022 or Windows 10/11 Enterprise with the iSCSI Initiator service.
  • Network reachability to the target portal(s) on TCP 3260.
  • Appropriate RBAC to access the Elastic SAN resource.
