Manage project work, timesheets, approvals, commercial hours, and invoicing in Microsoft 365.
TimeOpera brings project work, timesheets, approvals, commercial hours, reporting, and invoicing together inside Microsoft 365.
Designed for project-based organizations already working with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams, TimeOpera gives employees, project managers, approvers, finance teams, and administrators a shared workspace for managing day-to-day project operations without introducing a separate standalone business platform.
Employees can see their assigned work and record time, project managers can monitor delivery and project effort, approvers can review submitted timesheets, and finance teams can turn approved billable work into invoices.
Manage project work from Microsoft 365
TimeOpera connects the operational parts of project delivery in one role-aware experience:
- My Tasks: Give users a focused view of the work assigned to them across projects.
- Projects and teams: Manage customers, projects, project members, project managers, sections, tasks, approval settings, and project-related links.
- Timesheets: Record daily hours against assigned customers, projects, sections, tasks, and categories.
- Timesheet approvals: Submit time for approval, review pending submissions, approve or reject entries, and track approval status.
- Notifications and reminders: Keep users and approvers informed about submissions, approvals, rejections, and missing timesheet activity.
Understand effort and commercial capacity
TimeOpera goes beyond basic timesheets by helping project teams understand both recorded effort and the commercial hours available for customer work.
- Commercial Hours and Hours Agreements: Define and manage commercial hour arrangements for customer work, including recurring, prepaid, and statement-of-work scenarios.
- Commercial status and period comparison: Review available, consumed, and remaining hours and compare commercial performance across periods.
- Dashboards and reporting: Review project effort, customer effort, utilization, approval status, commercial status, and operational summaries.
- Role-aware visibility: Provide purpose-based experiences for Timesheet Users, Project Managers, Finance Administrators, and Administrators.
Move from approved time to invoicing
Finance teams can use approved or automatically approved billable time as the basis for preparing and managing customer invoices, helping reduce the gap between project delivery, recorded effort, and billing.
Bring existing project data into TimeOpera
TimeOpera includes guided import and migration capabilities to help administrators move supported customer, project, task, user, and historical time information into the TimeOpera workspace. Migration workflows include review and validation steps before data is committed.
Built for Microsoft 365
The TimeOpera SharePoint Framework package provides multiple supported Microsoft 365 experiences:
- SharePoint Web Part: Add TimeOpera to a modern SharePoint page.
- SharePoint Full Page App: Run TimeOpera as a focused full-page SharePoint application.
- Microsoft Teams Channel Tab: Add TimeOpera within a Microsoft Teams team or channel.
- Microsoft Teams Personal App: Give users direct access to TimeOpera from Microsoft Teams.
TimeOpera also integrates with Microsoft Entra ID for authenticated users and supports administrator-controlled synchronization of users from the organization's Microsoft 365 directory.
Designed for project-based organizations
TimeOpera is suitable for consulting firms, IT and technology teams, agencies, implementation partners, engineering and delivery teams, and other organizations that need structured visibility across project work, employee time, approvals, commercial commitments, and billable activity.
Microsoft 365-aligned security and data ownership
TimeOpera uses Microsoft Entra ID for authenticated access and applies tenant-aware, role-aware, and project-aware authorization.
Customer business records are stored in the organization's configured SharePoint Online workspace. TimeOpera uses backend services to process authorized application requests, while access to SharePoint is scoped to the SharePoint workspace selected and authorized for TimeOpera rather than requiring unrestricted tenant-wide SharePoint access.
Optional AI-assisted note refinement
Users can optionally request an AI-assisted suggestion to improve the wording of a timesheet note. The feature is user initiated, and the suggested text can be reviewed and edited before the user chooses to save it.
Guided onboarding
TimeOpera provides a guided setup experience for customer administrators covering Microsoft 365 authorization, SharePoint workspace configuration, application initialization, notification configuration, user and role setup, and optional Microsoft Teams integration.
Setup requirements and limitations
- TimeOpera requires Microsoft 365 with SharePoint Online.
- Initial setup must be completed by a Microsoft 365 administrator.
- TimeOpera follows a least-privilege access model, giving access only to the SharePoint workspace selected for TimeOpera.
- During setup, the administrator runs a generated PowerShell script to authorize that workspace, then TimeOpera verifies the access before continuing.
- Microsoft Teams integration is optional and can be enabled during setup.
