ThePoint Important Messages puts urgent communications where nobody can miss them - as clean alert banners at the top (or bottom) of every page on your SharePoint intranet. When email gets buried, critical information spreads by rumour; Important Messages makes sure planned maintenance, security alerts, policy changes, and company news reach everyone, on every page, automatically.

- Eight icon choices, independent of colour: info, warning, critical, tick, megaphone, spanner, clock, and bell
- Tracked acknowledgments: require staff to confirm critical messages; every confirmation is recorded with name and timestamp in a SharePoint audit list your compliance team can report on
- Scheduling with start and end date/times, plus a live countdown timer for maintenance windows
- Audience targeting by Microsoft Entra ID group, so messages reach only the people they apply to
- Dismissible or persistent messages, priority ordering, optional call-to-action button, and per-site on/off control
- Messages are authored in a standard SharePoint list - no new tools to learn, and publishing rights are controlled by normal SharePoint permissions
What is included: this package contains a single SharePoint Framework (SPFx) application customizer extension that renders the banner across your SharePoint Online sites. It contains no Microsoft Teams components. It requests one Microsoft Graph permission, GroupMember.Read.All, used solely for audience targeting (checking which Entra ID groups the signed-in user belongs to); if the permission is not approved, the extension still works and simply shows messages to everyone. All messages and acknowledgment records are stored in SharePoint lists created automatically within your own tenant - no content leaves your Microsoft 365 environment.
Licensing: ThePoint Important Messages runs in trial mode without a licence key. A small trial banner appears alongside messages and is removed once a valid paid licence key, purchased from ThePoint, is entered. The licence check fails open, so a connectivity issue never blocks your communications.
