Make complex information visual and easy to navigate: Smarter Image Map turns any image into an interactive entry point for SharePoint. Editors draw clickable areas directly on a process landscape, diagram, floor plan, organization chart, or product image and connect each area to a URL or another map.
COMPONENTS INCLUDED AND SUPPORTED HOSTS
This package contains exactly one SharePoint Framework client-side web part named Smarter Image Map. The same web part can be used on modern SharePoint pages, as a SharePoint single-part full-page app page, and as a configurable Microsoft Teams channel tab.
The package contains no application customizers, field customizers, command sets, bots, messaging extensions, or Teams personal app.
APP AND LICENSE
Smarter Image Map consists of two linked Microsoft Marketplace offers: this free Microsoft 365 app package and the separately purchased Smarter Image Map License SaaS offer. A fully functional 14-day trial starts automatically on first use. After the trial, an annual license is required for editing and interactive area navigation; the image itself remains visible.
Choose a license for one SharePoint Online site collection, up to five site collections in one Microsoft 365 tenant, or the entire SharePoint tenant. Microsoft handles the purchase, billing, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation. The purchasing administrator assigns the licensed SharePoint scope in the Smarter Business subscription portal.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- SharePoint Online is required; SharePoint Server is not supported.
- Editors require permission to edit items in the current site. Readers can use published maps but cannot open the editor.
- Maps and uploaded images are stored in the current site's Site Assets library. The web part does not copy map content between sites.
- Microsoft Teams use requires tenant-wide deployment from the tenant App Catalog and Add/Sync to Teams.
- No Microsoft Graph permission is requested. The licensing check requires outbound HTTPS access to the Smarter Business licensing service.
Technical details: Smarter Image Map is an SPFx web part for SharePoint Online. Map content stays in the customer's SharePoint tenant. The licensing check transmits only the tenant URL, site-collection URL, and product identifier to the Smarter Business licensing service; no image or map content is transmitted.
