Confinaid for Outlook

Confinaid for Outlook is a Data Loss Prevention (DLP) add-in that scans outgoing emails for sensitive content before they are sent.

When you click Send, Confinaid analyzes the email subject, body, and recipients for potential policy violations — such as financial data, personal information, or confidential business content. If a violation is detected, sending is blocked and you are prompted to return to the email to review and edit the flagged content before resending.

Requirements:

⚠ This add-in requires the Confinaid Desktop application to be installed and running on your Windows computer. The desktop app must be downloaded and installed separately before the add-in can perform compliance checks. Without it, the Smart Alerts scan will not execute.

Event-Based Activation (LaunchEvents)

Confinaid for Outlook uses event-based activation to automatically analyze outgoing emails when a send action is initiated. No data is inserted into the email body or headers by this feature. The add-in reads the email subject, body, and recipient list solely to perform a DLP compliance check against your organization's policy server. No email content is stored or transmitted outside of your configured Confinaid server endpoint.

Smart Alerts (OnMessageSend)

This add-in uses the Smart Alerts (OnMessageSend) feature with SendMode set to SoftBlock. When a DLP policy violation is detected, the user is shown a dialog with details of the violation and must return to the email to review and correct the flagged content before sending. If the add-in is unavailable or fails to respond, the email will send normally without any interruption. No data is modified, inserted, or injected into the email at any point.
