LeapFILE for Outlook lets you send confidential files straight from your inbox, delivered as a secure transfer instead of a plain email attachment. Recipients verify their identity before downloading, so only the intended person can access what you send — and every delivery is tracked. How LeapFILE works: While composing a message, open the LeapFILE pane, connect to your LeapFILE account, and add the files you want to deliver securely — they upload in the background while you write. When you choose Attach files securely, the add-in reads the message's recipients and subject to create the transfer, then inserts a secure-download block into the message body: a secure download link, the list of file names, and the date the link remains available. You then send the message the way you normally would — the add-in takes no action on send, and messages without a LeapFILE block are unaffected.

While the pane is open, the add-in keeps the transfer in step with your message. If you add or remove recipients after attaching, the transfer's recipient list updates to match. If your files are still uploading, no files are added, no recipient is set, or you are not connected to LeapFILE, the pane tells you what to fix before the files can be attached. You can remove the LeapFILE block from the message at any time to send it as a plain email.
