✔ Application Portfolio Assessment Full discovery and assessment of every business application using Azure Migrate and dependency mapping tools. Each application is catalogued with its hosting requirements, dependencies, business criticality, and technical risk rating. Nothing moves without being fully understood first.
✔ Dependency Mapping Automated mapping of all application interdependencies, which applications connect to which databases, which APIs they call, and which users and business processes depend on them. This prevents the single biggest cause of failed migrations: breaking something you did not know was connected.
✔ Migration Strategy Assignment Every application is assigned the right migration strategy based on its architecture and business requirements:
- Rehost — lift and shift to Azure Virtual Machines
- Replatform — move to Azure App Service with minor optimisation
- Refactor — containerise and deploy to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Retire — decommission applications that are no longer needed
- Retain — keep on-premises where cloud migration is not yet viable
