Architecture and Microsoft alignment

The service operates Microsoft Entra ID Governance in your tenant: access reviews, entitlement management access packages, lifecycle workflows, and Privileged Identity Management. Conditional access supplies the enforcement layer. Sign-in, audit, and provisioning logs stream to a Log Analytics workspace with a retention period matched to your audit obligation, and the monthly evidence pack is generated from that workspace. Prerequisites

Microsoft Entra ID Governance licensing, or Entra ID P2 with the Governance add-on, across in-scope users. A Log Analytics workspace with retention configured to your audit requirement. Global Administrator consent, an executive sponsor for the delegation of authority mapping, and named reviewers per department for the access review cycles.

Limitations

This service governs identity in Microsoft Entra ID. On-premises Active Directory governance, non-Microsoft identity providers, and third-party privileged access management platforms are out of scope. We prepare and supply evidence; we do not represent your organisation to an auditor or certify compliance on your behalf. Sovereign cloud environments including GCC High and DoD are supported but scoped separately because the feature set differs.
