Azure File Sync Agent for Windows

Installs Azure File Sync agent on Azure Arc-enabled Windows Servers to centralize file shares in Azure Files and provide a quick local cache.

Azure File Sync (AFS) extension that installs the AFS agent on Azure Arc–enabled Windows Servers. It installs three main components:

FileSyncSvc.exe: The background Windows service responsible for monitoring changes on Server Endpoints and initiating sync sessions to Azure.
StorageSync.sys: The Azure File Sync file system filter, responsible for tiering cold files to Azure Files (when cloud tiering is enabled).
Server PowerShell management cmdlet: PowerShell cmdlets can be used to perform management tasks on the server and to help diagnose issues. The cmdlets can be found at the following location (by default): %ProgramFiles%\Azure\StorageSyncAgent\StorageSync.Management.ServerCmdlets.dll

Prerequisites:

The server must be running a supported operating system version with the latest Windows updates. Check the AFS release notes to see which Windows Server versions are supported.
The server has an active internet connection to download the Azure File Sync agent.
