Daily backup coverage report — find unprotected, failing, and stale Azure resources in your tenant.
A missing backup policy is invisible until the day you need a restore that was never taken. Azure has no native report that tells you which resources are actually protected. Backup Auditor closes that gap.
WHAT IT DOES
Backup Auditor deploys into your own Azure subscription as a managed application. Every day it inventories your resources with Azure Resource Graph, cross-checks them against every Recovery Services vault, and posts a Microsoft Teams report of what is unprotected, what has failing or stale restore points, and your overall coverage percentage.
WHO IT IS FOR
IT administrators, backup and infrastructure teams, and anyone accountable for recoverability or audit evidence across a subscription with more resources than they can track by hand.
WHY IT IS SAFE
There is no vendor backend. It runs on a consumption Function inside your subscription, reads only backup configuration and status metadata with a read-only managed identity you control, and sends the report only to the Teams webhook you configure. Delete the managed application and every trace is gone.
SETUP
Deploy from the marketplace, paste a Teams webhook URL, and run one script to grant the managed identity read-only Reader and Backup Reader roles. The first report arrives the next morning.
