OpenEduCat is an open-source student information and school management application built on the Odoo Community framework. It covers admissions and student applicants, student and guardian records, academic structure (programs, courses, batches and subjects), attendance, assignments, exams and results, a parent portal, and a library module.
This image delivers OpenEduCat fully installed, configured and security hardened on Odoo 19 Community and PostgreSQL, so you have a working school management system within minutes of launch, eliminating the manual Odoo installation, database configuration and module setup that a self-managed deployment requires.
Installing this stack by hand means provisioning PostgreSQL, installing Odoo Community, fetching and installing the OpenEduCat modules and their dependencies, creating and initialising a database, and only then hardening the default master password and admin login. This image completes all of that before first boot. Application stack: OpenEduCat on Odoo 19 Community, served directly by Odoo's built-in web server, backed by PostgreSQL 16. The stack is memory tuned for small virtual machines and PostgreSQL is bound to localhost only.
On the first boot of your instance, a one-shot service generates a fresh Odoo master password, a fresh Administrator login password and a fresh PostgreSQL database password unique to that instance, then writes the credentials to a root-only file, so no shared or default passwords ship in the image. No student, guardian, admission or fee data is seeded, because school records are yours to enter. Browse to the instance address on port 8069 and sign in as Administrator to begin.
