GameAP Control Panel on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

بواسطة cloudimg

Open source game server control panel, secured and supported by cloudimg

GameAP on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

GameAP is a free, open source control panel for deploying and managing game servers from your browser. Install, start, stop, restart, configure and monitor game servers, stream the live server console, browse and edit server files, schedule tasks, and give your team role-based access - all without touching the command line.

cloudimg packages GameAP v4.4.1 as an all-in-one appliance on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS:

  • The GameAP web panel (a native Go binary) serving on loopback and fronted by nginx with TLS
  • The GameAP daemon that runs game servers on the same machine, linked to the panel over a mutual-TLS gRPC stream
  • An embedded SQLite datastore, so the appliance runs standalone with no external database
  • SteamCMD and the open source Minetest/Luanti dedicated server, preinstalled for a redistributable demo game

Secure by default

The panel talks to the daemon over a long-lived gRPC stream secured with mutual TLS, and the daemon's client certificate is generated uniquely on each VM at first boot, never baked into the image. The panel HTTP endpoint and the gRPC endpoint are bound to the loopback interface, so only the nginx TLS front end is exposed and the daemon opens no inbound port. A fresh administrator password, data encryption key and daemon enrollment key are generated uniquely on every VM at first boot, and the admin password is written to a root-only file for you to retrieve, so no default login ever ships.

What you get

  • GameAP v4.4.1 (MIT) installed with the official gameapctl tool, pinned to the v4.4.1 release
  • The panel and a linked local daemon, connected over per-VM mutual TLS, ready to run game servers
  • A unique random administrator password generated at first boot, stored root-only
  • An nginx TLS reverse proxy with a per-VM certificate, WebSocket aware for the live console
  • A paired step-by-step deployment guide
  • Ongoing security patching and image maintenance
  • 24/7 expert cloudimg support

Licensing and pricing

GameAP is open source under the MIT licence and is free to use. The cloudimg charge of $0.04 per vCPU per hour covers packaging, security patching, image maintenance and 24/7 support. Recommended size: Standard_B2s for the panel and daemon; size up for the game servers you run.
