Org Chart Visual

Org Chart renders your organisation's complete reporting structure from two columns you already have: an employee ID and a manager ID. Unlike the native decomposition tree, it shows every branch at once, needs no numeric measure, handles ragged-depth hierarchies, and supports multiple roots. KEY FEATURES • Fully expanded hierarchy - see the whole organisation, not one drill path at a time • Compact layout - wide, flat teams stack vertically so large orgs stay readable • Pan, zoom and fit-to-view - smooth navigation even at tens of thousands of nodes • Search - find anyone by name, job title, grade or ID and jump straight to them • Colour coding - colour nodes by any category (grade, department, location…) with per-value colour overrides via the on-canvas legend • Cross-filtering and cross-highlighting - click a person to filter the rest of the report; selections in other visuals highlight matching staff while keeping the full tree visible • Native tooltips, right-click context menu, keyboard navigation and high-contrast support FIELDS Required: Employee Name, Employee ID, Manager ID. Optional: Job Title, Grade, Colour By, and Value (a numeric field shown on each node that also enables cross-highlighting). LIMITS Power BI supplies custom visuals with a maximum of 30,000 rows, so larger organisations are truncated at that limit. Cross-highlighting requires a numeric field in the Value bucket.
